Step into the vibrant community of Grand Junction on April 18th for an unforgettable run or walk at Las Colonias Park. This family-friendly event offers three distances: a casual 2.5K, a moderate 5K, and a challenging 10K route, catering to runners and walkers alike. The scenic course winds through the park's lush trails and along Riverfront Drive, providing picturesque views of Grand Junction’s natural beauty. Participants can enjoy the fresh spring air while supporting local children through Elevate Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing physical education programs in D51 schools and beyond. This year, the event is proud to partner with the D51 Foundation, which shares our mission of promoting health and wellness among young people. Together, they are working tirelessly to provide scholarships for those who might not otherwise be able to participate. Applications for these full-tuition awards will be accepted from October 1st through March 13th. All proceeds benefit Elevate Kids’ initiatives such as the Girls on the Run program and the Kids Aid Backpack Program, which ensures that children have access to nutritious meals even after school hours. Registration fees increase closer to race day, so secure your spot early. Join us in making a difference for kids while enjoying an invigorating morning with friends and family. Participants are encouraged to visit https://elevatekids.org/donate/ for more information on how their contribution will make a lasting impact.
