24HR "The Grind"

The 24HR "The Grind" returns to Perris, California on January 29th, marking the inaugural event of Machete Trail Madness. Participants will face a relentless 4-mile+ loop known as Molcajete 1.0 under the stars from Friday evening until Saturday morning. This unique endurance challenge is not just about distance but about pushing through pain and fatigue over multiple laps.
The course venue for this race, located in Perris, California, features the challenging Molcajete Trail within Lake Perris State Park. The trail offers a mix of terrain with firm yet slightly soft footing that requires runners to manage their energy throughout the night. Starters will begin their journey at 7 p.m., navigating through dark and light conditions as they loop around the same rigorous course repeatedly.
The event is significant for its pioneering spirit, inviting both solo competitors and teams of up to four participants in any combination of genders. As a brand new race with no prior history to draw from, it sets itself apart by focusing on endurance over distance. Each participant or team will have an opportunity to earn their medal/buckle along with the provided event shirt if they register before December 24th.
The course for 24HR "The Grind" is centered around a relentless loop of more than four miles, featuring firm but slightly soft trail conditions that cater well to both running and hiking. The trail itself winds through various elevations within Lake Perris State Park, adding an element of challenge with each lap taken under the cover of night or in early morning light.
Weather on race day is expected to offer a UV index around 2.0 (low) which should minimize sun exposure concerns for participants running into the night and beyond dawn.
