25. KREISSPARKASSE VULKANEIFEL TRIATHLON powered by GEROLSTEINER

Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Kreissparkasse Vulkaneifel Triathlon, powered by GEROLSTEINER, an esteemed race that has become a landmark event in the triathlon calendar. This year's edition promises to be particularly special with numerous highlights and enhancements designed for athletes from all over.
The main attraction is the Sprint Distance course: 500 meters of swimming at Gerolstein’s outdoor pool followed by a scenic bike ride through the picturesque Eifel region, including the legendary climb up the "Eigelbacher Nordwand." The race concludes with a stunning run along the Kyll river valley, finishing dramatically on the Brunnenplatz in central Gerolstein. For athletes from Rhineland-Palatinate, there's an additional opportunity to compete for the official state championship sprint title if they have a valid start permit.
In 2026, the race organizers are introducing several improvements, particularly with the bike course which has been redesigned for enhanced safety and enjoyment. The new route avoids major highways and features partially closed roads, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes of Vulkaneifel while pushing their limits on challenging terrain.
For those seeking a shorter challenge, the event offers an additional distance: 1000 meters swim at Gerolstein’s indoor pool, followed by two laps on the new bike course and two runs through the Kyll valley. The race concludes with a spectacular finish line ceremony in the newly revamped area around Brunnenplatz.
Competitors can look forward to official timing services for individual racers and relay teams alike. Additionally, beginners are welcome to join the FUN Relay without timed results—a great way to ease into triathlon racing while enjoying camaraderie among participants.
Registration is currently full for Sprint Distance individuals and relay categories with waiting lists available. Participants under 18 must provide parental consent for participation; this form is available for download on the RTV website. Those registered through a league manager are exempt from this requirement according to §4.3 SpO regulations.
