27. Delbrücker Katharinenlauf

Set for September 17th, the Katharinenlauf offers runners of all ages an engaging race day experience. The registration period opens on September 1st and remains active until 10 AM on the morning of the event.
The course is designed to cater to both short-distance enthusiasts and endurance athletes alike. For those participating in the shorter distance category, a 5 km route awaits, which runs parallel for about two-thirds of its length with the longer 10 km race before branching off into an unpaved section near kilometer three. The final stretch of this course is carefully marked to guide runners around potential obstacles.
Younger participants will enjoy their own dedicated segment after crossing a bridge over B64, leading them through Leipziger Street and concluding with a lap around St. Marienschule before reaching the finish line.
The 10 km race includes an innovative early start option for slower-paced runners at 6:15 PM to ensure safety during darker hours when traffic on the route can be heavy. This initiative aims to accommodate those who might require more time and avoid congestion with cyclists later in the evening.
Participants will receive a transponder, worn around their ankle using a neoprene band, which they must return after crossing the finish line for a refundable deposit of €10. The event organizers have also made provisions for early morning returns by runners who might accidentally wear it to bed!
Competitors are encouraged to plan their route carefully due to expected traffic congestion near Delbrück on B64 and should consider alternative routes such as Anreppen or Bentfeld.
Race day amenities include changing rooms and showers but may be limited in capacity. Online registration is available, with the option for last-minute individual registrations up until 30 minutes before each start time. Payment can either be processed via direct debit upon online sign-up or cash on-site at the event.
The Katharinenlauf welcomes runners to a vibrant atmosphere centered around Schlaunstraße and Südstraße near the Katharinenmarktgelände, with finish line activities taking place in front of St. Marienschule on Leipziger Street.
