About the Event
Welcome to the 27th edition of the Glass Monk Run, taking place on Sunday, July 12, 2026. We are thrilled to thank our sponsors who have been instrumental in reviving this beloved race after an eight-year hiatus: Sanitätshaus Disse, Allianz Schwarz Agentur, Bauer Südlohn Halberstadt, Etikon, and many others. The event kicks off at the charming Schäferhof in Langenstein, with special thanks to Merino e.V. for providing their picturesque grounds once again. We are also grateful to Herr Werner from Restaurant Schäferhof for his continued support. This year’s race features a full lineup of events including the main course and free children's runs over 500 and 1000 meters, as well as a relay event covering three laps each of six kilometers. The new route is designed to offer an engaging experience with its challenging terrain, featuring steep staircases that ascend nearly 222 steps. Participants will enjoy three rounds along the course, which includes both stairs and a short trail descent. This year’s race also features a bicycle ride to the former Landhaus where coffee, grilling, and good cheer await in anticipation of beautiful summer weather. The Glass Monk Run is part of the inaugural Harzer Läufercup 2026, comprising six events with an attractive cup competition based on points awarded for placements across various age groups. High-quality prizes and gift certificates are up for grabs to make this a rewarding experience for all participants. We encourage everyone who completes the race to enjoy our complimentary access to Langenstein’s beautiful outdoor pool afterward. This is one of the highlights we recommend due to its scenic beauty and refreshing ambiance. Join us on July 12, 2026, as part of your summer racing calendar in the Harz region.
