The main ride begins at White Water Middle School in Charlotte on June 12, 2027, with two primary routes: the Metric Century Ride covering approximately 62 miles (including four rest stops) and the Half-Metric Century Ride spanning around 31 miles (with two rest stops). Both rides are police-escorted for safety, ensuring a smooth journey through picturesque landscapes dotted with rolling hills. Cyclists will enjoy SAG support throughout their ride, providing essential fuel and nutrition at each well-stocked rest stop. For those seeking additional challenges or alternative modes of participation, the event offers both traditional cycling options as well as run-based activities. A 15-mile Fun Ride for cyclists who prefer a less competitive experience kicks off at 8:45 AM on June 12th. Additionally, runners can take part in either a standalone 5K race or tackle the more demanding duathlon event (a combination of a 5K run followed by any bike distance). All participants will receive comprehensive support throughout their chosen activities, including access to professional bike mechanics and local vendors at the Swap Meet area. The day concludes with an enjoyable lunch for all riders and runners who have completed their respective challenges. Registration includes exclusive perks such as guaranteed finisher gifts (for the first 150 registrants) and a recovery ride on June 13th, designed to help participants unwind after two days of intense activity. This year marks a significant change with official timing for both metric and half-metric rides, adding an element of competition and camaraderie among riders.
