The Fatty Tires Race is designed for children aged 6 to 10 years old and takes place on a shortened course along the Maxstraße, offering young riders an introduction to competitive cycling. No pre-registration is required; simply arrive at the registration tent up until half an hour before the start time of 2:30 PM. Parents or guardians must complete a consent form for their children upon arrival. For adult participants looking for casual competition without needing a racing license, there's also a hobby race on the same day. This event features a round-trip course where only the final lap results count towards standings; no intermediate sprints are included in the ranking. Participants must bring road bikes and helmets to comply with safety regulations. Another highlight of the day is the Augsburg Tandem Prix, part of Radwoche’s program for folding bike enthusiasts. This event consists of two qualifying rounds from which the fastest riders advance to a grand finale. Riders should come prepared with their tandem bicycles and helmets; costumes are optional but can add an extra layer of fun. The race venue is centrally located in Augsburg's city center, where parking options may be limited due to high traffic volume around event time. The organizers recommend using one of the nearby public garages or opting for a larger lot at the Augsburger Plärrer if space permits. Public transportation also offers convenient access. During race breaks, parts of the course will temporarily close off to ensure safe passage for local residents entering and exiting their homes near the track area. Participants are advised to plan accordingly and may want to bring cones or markers to delineate entry points during these times. Changing facilities, restrooms, and a lounge area can be found at Ulrichschule on Maximilianstraße 52; access is via Hallstraße. Prize money will be awarded according to the official rules for licensed racers in various age categories but will not be distributed from the starting number booth. Instead, winners should collect their prizes at the green pavilion after completing their races. As always, volunteers are crucial to ensuring a smooth event flow on race day.
