Forges, nestled within the picturesque village of Sauvigny-les-bois, is set to host an array of exciting outdoor activities and races over the weekend of August 29th and 30th, 2026. The event promises something for everyone, from young cyclists to seasoned adventurers. On Saturday, starting at 14:00 at Maison de la Nature et de la Faune Sauvage in Forges (Sauvigny-les-bois), children aged between three and ten years old are invited to participate in the SAUVIMÔME races. This event features two circuits for young riders without training wheels, one measuring 3 kilometers and another extending up to 6 kilometers. Additionally, there is a more challenging circuit of 12 kilometers designed for those who have honed their cycling skills. For individuals with disabilities or special needs, the SAUVIHANDI course offers a dedicated 3-kilometer route that accommodates all ages and abilities. This inclusive event ensures everyone can partake in the fun while enjoying accessible facilities and adaptive equipment. The evening activities commence at 20:30 with the BANDA AZUR procession leaving from the town hall towards Etang des Roses for a lively band performance. The festivities continue with an impressive fireworks display presented by La Billebaude Artifices, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event. At 21:45, participants are invited to embark on the FIRST NIGHT VTT race – a nocturnal cycling challenge covering 9.6 kilometers through dense woodland trails. This unique experience is open both to individuals and teams ranging from two to six members but excludes electric-assisted bikes (VTTAE) and gravel bikes. Pre-registration online by August 28th at 21:00 with an entry fee of €30 plus a processing charge of €1.25 per person guarantees participation. A pedestrian night walk, limited to the first 200 registrants who must pre-register online for just €2 including a processing fee of €0.50, begins at 22:00 and covers a distance of 6 kilometers. This event aims to provide an enjoyable evening stroll while ensuring proper supervision by volunteers. The following day, Sunday, the festivities continue with various VTT and pedestrian routes starting from the town hall. Cyclists can choose between three different circuits ranging in length from 20 to 50 kilometers for a full day of riding. For those interested in more rugged terrain, there's also a Gravel ride covering approximately 70 kilometers. Pedestrians have two options: a shorter route of about nine kilometers and an extended one of sixteen kilometers, both catering equally well to runners who wish to participate as well. The event organizers ensure that all participants are provided with water stations along the routes and at the finish line for refreshment. Registration fees vary depending on whether you sign up online before August 27th or pay upon arrival; children under sixteen years old receive a discount compared to adults over this age limit. Online registration is strongly recommended, as it includes access to detailed route information via QR code scans during check-in. Participants are reminded that medical certificates are no longer mandatory for non-licensed individuals but must present an FFC health follow-up attestation if competing in cycling competitions. Furthermore, all teams participating in the FIRST NIGHT VTT race will be required to carry out their waste responsibly and undergo a quick inspection before departure due to new regulations. This event promises not only competitive racing but also plenty of fun activities for families and friends alike, making it an ideal destination for anyone looking to enjoy nature while engaging in physical activity.
