On September 6, 2026, the Office Municipal du Sport of Bourbon l'Archambault hosts its ninth edition of the triathlon in this renowned thermal city. The event is recognized by the French Federation of Triathlon and features four distinct formats to cater to a wide range of participants. The day kicks off at 9:30 AM with an XS format for older youth, starting as an individual time trial open to Minimes (born in or before 2011). Participants will swim 300 meters, cycle 10 kilometers, and run 2.5 kilometers, all while enjoying the scenic surroundings of Bourbon l'Archambault. At noon, a triathlon format is introduced for children aged between 6 to 9 years (born in or after 2016), featuring a more manageable distance with 50 meters of swimming, followed by one kilometer on bicycles and concluding with half a kilometer run. This race starts at 12:30 PM in waves. For slightly older children aged between 10 to 13 years (born from 2012 to 2015), the event offers another format starting at 11:30 AM, with 200 meters of swimming, a four-kilometer cycle ride, and finishing off with a run covering one-and-a-half kilometers. The race begins in waves as well. The day's highlight is a double XS format for athletes aged cadet (born after or in 2009) who can compete individually or form relay teams including Minimes (born in 2011). This challenging event consists of two identical segments: each featuring 300 meters of swimming, followed by cycling and running distances similar to the XS format. The second segment begins immediately after completing the first. All participants will enjoy a well-marked route that includes a picturesque cycle path leading through Saint-Plaisir and Theneuille before returning to Bourbon l'Archambault's municipal pool for both swim and finish lines. Numerous hydration stations along the course ensure athletes remain hydrated throughout their journey, while safety measures are in place with clear signage guiding participants. The event concludes at 17:30 PM when awards will be presented to all winners at the municipal swimming pool. With over three hundred competitors expected, this triathlon promises an engaging day of competition and camaraderie for athletes of all ages.
