35th Annual Union Tar Heel Days 5k Run/Walk

Join us for the exhilarating 35th Annual 5K Run and Walk, set to take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the charming town of Union, Iowa. The festivities kick off at 7:00am with sign-in procedures at 502 Main St, allowing ample time for participants to get ready before the event begins.
The walk commences promptly at 7:45am, followed by the thrilling start of the 5K Run at 8:00am. This year's course is a flat and smooth paved path, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all runners and walkers alike. Please note that pets and bicycles are not permitted on-site to maintain safety and comfort.
Participants will navigate through Union’s picturesque streets, surrounded by quaint shops and historic architecture. The age divisions for the 5K Run offer opportunities across various demographics: Group 1 (12 & Under), Group 2 (13-19), Group 3 (20-29), Group 4 (30-39), Group 5 (40-49), and Group 6 (50 & Over). Each group will compete in a supportive atmosphere, fostering both competition and camaraderie.
