The Garmin Water Mill Run is set to take place at the picturesque Gaststätte Zur Mühle in Wallenhorst, located along Im Nettetal 4. Participants are advised to use parking spaces near the street for easy access and convenience on race day.
Starting directly from the parking area, runners will head towards the restaurant as they embark on a challenging yet rewarding journey through varied terrain. The event kicks off at 8:00 AM sharp with a strict time limit of eight hours in place. A modest entry fee of €5 is collected at registration on-site.
The race features an adjusted course this year, boasting more forested paths and proximity to babbling streams while reducing asphalt sections for a total distance of approximately 46.8 kilometers over six laps. Competitors can opt for the half marathon variant covering three rounds or about 23.4 kilometers. Both distances are eligible for DUV (Deutsche Ultramarathon-Verband) listing, enhancing their appeal to serious runners and ultrarunners alike.
Given that the course is not marked, participants must rely on clear directions from race organizers. The route winds through natural areas where respecting fellow trail users such as hikers, cyclists, and horseback riders is crucial due to limited traffic control measures in place.
Bathroom facilities are not available along the circuit; therefore, runners should come prepared with their own hydration and nutrition supplies for each lap since aid stations will be absent.
