41. Schuhbräualmlauf

The Schuhbräualmlauf is an annual running event that has been celebrated for 41 years on the slopes of the picturesque Schuhbräu Alm near Grossholzhausen. Set to take place on August 5, 2026, at 7 PM, this race offers runners a challenging yet scenic route through some of Austria's most stunning alpine terrain.
The course spans 7.5 kilometers and includes an elevation gain of approximately 678 meters, featuring moderate inclines with several steep sections along the way. Runners will navigate winding paths that wind upwards towards the Schuhbräualm mountain hut, providing breathtaking views throughout their journey. The race is open to runners born in or after the year 2008 and has a maximum capacity of 160 participants.
Participants can register until August 3, 2026, with an entry fee of €17 for early sign-ups; thereafter, it increases to €22. On-the-day registration is possible up to half an hour before the start if spots are still available.
The race offers various age categories: M/W15-19, M/W20, M/W30, M/W40, M/W50, M/W60, and M/W70. No spikes or ski poles are allowed during this event to maintain safety standards. The start line is located at the sports hall in Grossholzhausen, with participants heading towards their goal on a mass-start format.
Upon reaching the finish line atop Schuhbräualm mountain hut, runners will be greeted by panoramic views and an exhilarating atmosphere. Prizes are awarded based on age categories following the race's conclusion, and every runner receives a commemorative gift to remember this special day. Additionally, there is a raffle with exciting prizes where each registration number serves as an entry ticket.
The event concludes around 20 minutes after the last participant crosses the finish line at Schuhbräualm mountain hut, which also acts as the endpoint and celebration site for all runners. For those traveling from afar, directions to the start point can be found by following A93 towards Reischenhart, then proceeding in the direction of Grossholzhausen/Raubling.
