45. Arratiako Maratoi Txikia (Zeanuri-Igorre) 2026

The Arratiko Marathon and Half-Marathon, now in its 45th edition, is set to take place on October 25, 2026. This annual race starts at Zenuri and concludes in Igorre, crossing through a series of picturesque Basque villages including Zeanuri, Areatza, Artea, Arantzazu, and finally Igorre. The entire route consists of asphalt roads that wind their way through charming rural landscapes.
The marathon offers runners the opportunity to experience diverse terrain as they pass by historic churches, vibrant squares, and serene countryside. Participants will appreciate the well-maintained paths leading from Zenuri to Igorre over a distance of 11 kilometers for the half-marathoners or five kilometers starting at Artea.
For younger participants, there's also a fun run in Olabarri village featuring pre-determined circuits designed specifically for kids and their bicycles. Recent editions have seen distances ranging from 300 meters to 800 meters depending on age groups.
The event is organized by the Arratiko High School Committee with support from local cycling clubs, motor enthusiasts, and Igorre Town Hall. Registration can be completed online or in person until September 23 at noon for those wishing to collect their numbered shirts beforehand.
Runners must adhere strictly to race day guidelines: no late entries will be accepted after the deadline, and participants who miss the start time due to unforeseen circumstances may not receive a bib number on site unless they register online.
Race-day activities begin early with packet pick-up at Igorre School from 9 AM onwards. The event itself kicks off promptly at 10:15 AM for half-marathoners starting in Zeanuri, followed by the children's race around Olabarri village square shortly after.
Public transportation will be available to shuttle participants between key locations such as Olabarri and Igorre town centers, ensuring a smooth experience for all involved.
This event promises an engaging day of athletic competition, cultural immersion, and community spirit that is unique to the Basque region's rich heritage.
