XIX. Sorginen Lasterketa

Set against the backdrop of Atxondo, a picturesque town in Bizkaia, Spain, La Sorginen Lasterketa is an exhilarating mountain race that invites runners to explore the stunning Parque Natural de Urkiola. This scenic course begins and ends at Axpe, weaving through some of the most enchanting corners of this natural reserve.
The 20.7-kilometer trail offers a challenging yet rewarding experience with its steep climbs totaling 1750 meters in elevation gain. The route is carefully crafted to showcase the rich variety of landscapes that characterize the Atlantic mountain range, blending rugged highlands and lush forest trails into one unforgettable journey.
Participants will traverse through diverse terrain, including stretches on asphalt (10%), along forest paths (40%), over challenging single-track trails (50%), and even venturing into some higher elevation areas. This mix ensures a dynamic race that tests both endurance and technical skills.
The event is meticulously supported with four water stations strategically placed throughout the course to keep runners fueled and hydrated, complemented by a well-stocked finish line celebration.
