51st ANNUAL ANDOUILLE FESTIVAL RUN/WALK

The 48th Annual Andouille Festival Run returns to Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., marking the continuation of a storied tradition that began in 1972 when the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department launched this community event. Nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River in LaPlace, Louisiana, the race offers runners and walkers an engaging course through picturesque landscapes.
Participants can choose between two distances: a challenging 5-mile route or a more leisurely 2-mile walk/run option. Both courses are designed to highlight the scenic beauty and rich history of St. John Parish while showcasing its vibrant community spirit. The event features chip timing, ensuring accurate results for all competitors, along with custom race t-shirts for those who register by September.
Race day festivities begin at 7:00 a.m., when registration opens and participants can pick up their packets before the start time. As runners take off from Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park, they will be greeted not only by the crisp morning air but also by enthusiastic crowds lining the course, cheering them on throughout.
Post-race celebrations include live music, delicious food options featuring local favorites like andouille sausage, and refreshments to help everyone recover after their efforts. The event is more than just a race; it's an opportunity for community members to come together in support of beautification initiatives led by Keep St. John Beautiful, the volunteer committee dedicated to enhancing the parish’s appearance.
