Join us for the 10th Anniversary of Cabo Rojo Coop's 5K, one of Puerto Rico’s most anticipated running events. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, runners from all walks of life will gather in the western region to celebrate a decade of health and community spirit. The race begins at 5:00 PM sharp, starting from Cabo Rojo Coop's facilities located on PR-100 near Miradero. The scenic route takes participants along this bustling highway towards Mayagüez before turning back via PR-311 for a total distance of 5 kilometers. This certified and flat course offers runners the chance to showcase their skills while enjoying Puerto Rico’s vibrant coastal landscape. Registration costs $20 plus a service fee, with online sign-ups available through www.tiempodellegada.com/events until October 10th at midnight. In-person registration is also possible at local branches in Cabo Rojo, Mayagüez, Hormigueros, and Sabana Grande by the same deadline. The event features age categories for both men and women from 15 to over 70 years old, ensuring every competitor finds a place where they can shine. An additional wheelchair category is available for those who need it. Overall male and female winners will be awarded prizes for first through fifth places, while the top three in each individual age group receive recognition as well. Before the main event kicks off at 5:00 PM, young athletes have their own chance to participate in a series of fun races starting from 2:00 PM. These shorter distances cater specifically to children and teens aged between five and fourteen years old, encouraging them to enjoy physical activity while fostering healthy competition. With its picturesque setting and strong sense of community, this year’s Cabo Rojo Coop 5K promises an unforgettable experience for runners of all levels looking to celebrate a decade of dedication to health and sport in Puerto Rico.
