The "66 Degrés Sud – Pyrénées Catalanes Gravel Tour" returns on September 26th, 2026, for its second edition, this time starting from the picturesque village of Font-Romeu. As an official qualifier for the UCI Gravel World Series, it solidifies its status as one of Europe's premier gravel cycling events. The race traverses a unique landscape in the Pyrénées Catalanes, where cyclists are treated to fast gravel tracks and high-altitude trails with breathtaking panoramic views. Whether you're aiming for international recognition or seeking personal challenges, there is something for every level of rider here. The event promises an authentic atmosphere filled with camaraderie among participants. Three main categories cater to a variety of ambitions: La Gran: A challenging 100km course with 2286 meters of elevation gain, ideal for those chasing World Championship qualifications.
La Medio: This 77km route offers 1726 meters of climbing and is another timed qualifier within the UCI Gravel World Series. For riders who want to experience the beauty without the pressure of timing or qualification: Pyrénées Catalanes: A non-qualifying, yet exciting 39km ride with a climb of 749 meters. And for those looking for an enjoyable day out on two wheels:
La Rando: This scenic and leisurely 22km route offers riders the chance to enjoy stunning mountain scenery at their own pace. All participants receive comprehensive support, including race bibs, timing services, feed stations along the way, a traditional Catalan finish-line celebration with local flavors, medals upon completion, welcome bags filled with partner goodies, invitations to technical briefings ahead of time, and detailed rider guides. Winners in each category will also be awarded trophies, UCI medals for qualifiers, and jerseys. The event weekend features an outdoor village bustling with activities from Friday through Sunday: - Friday: Opening day includes race number collection, on-site registrations, a technical briefing, and entertainment.
- Saturday: The heart of the action kicks off early in the morning with the start line inauguration followed by the races. Afternoon sees the arrival of the first riders and prize ceremonies as they conclude. - Sunday: Riders can unwind or explore further through MTB discovery loops organized locally. Join us at Font-Romeu for an unforgettable gravel cycling experience amidst some of Europe's most stunning scenery.
