About the Event

The Naturalist Mountaineering Association of Sidirokastro (F.O.S.S.) invites runners and nature enthusiasts to the picturesque town of Sidirokastro for its highly anticipated sixth edition of the Pallatideion Semi-Mountain Road Race. This year, the event offers a variety of distances catering to different levels of fitness and experience.
The main 6km route winds through scenic semi-mountainous terrain, offering runners breathtaking views and challenging yet manageable elevation changes. Participants will have the opportunity to explore Sidirokastro's natural beauty as they navigate paths lined with lush greenery and rugged landscapes.
For those seeking a more extensive adventure, F.O.S.S. also hosts the Krousovitis trail race on the same day, covering an impressive 27km distance. This longer route delves deeper into the mountains, presenting runners with steeper ascents and descents while showcasing even more of Sidirokastro’s stunning scenery.
In addition to these two races, a special Junior Race is available for children up to 12 years old, featuring an inviting 1000m course. This event encourages young athletes to embrace their love for running in a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth and enthusiasm for the sport from an early age.
All participants will be treated to a day filled with camaraderie and appreciation of Sidirokastro’s rich natural surroundings, making this race not just a competition but also a celebration of community spirit and outdoor adventure.

Sidirokastro is a town and a former municipality in the Serres regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Sintiki, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit.
