82. TRAVESIA DE LA BAHIA DE LA CONCHA

Organized by the Club Natación Easo and in collaboration with the Real Club Náutico de San Sebastián, this aquatic festival on September 12th, 2026, promises to be an exhilarating day of swimming at Donostia-San Sebastián's iconic Concha Bay. The event kicks off early morning from the nautical club’s dock with a lineup that caters to all ages and skill levels.
For young swimmers aged 11-14 years old, there is a special category starting at 11:00 AM featuring a fun lap of approximately 740 meters. This short but sweet race allows the younger participants to experience competitive swimming in a supportive environment.
Following closely behind at 11:30 AM are two staggered starts for women competing in EMAKUMEOK IGERIALDIA, one covering 350 meters and another extending up to 740 meters. This segment showcases the diversity of talents among female swimmers while ensuring everyone has a fair chance.
The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the Absolute Race starting at noon, where participants tackle an impressive distance of 2.2 kilometers in Concha Bay’s open waters. Swimmers are divided into waves based on their registration times to ensure smooth starts and optimal race conditions throughout the event. The course features buoys clearly marked for guidance along the left side as swimmers make their way through the bay.
Competitors have one hour and fifteen minutes to complete this challenging route, with support boats ready to assist those who need a lift back if they exceed that time limit. It’s an opportunity not just to test personal limits but also to enjoy the unique setting of Donostia-San Sebastián's picturesque waterfront.
To enhance participants' experience, each swimmer receives a race bag on event day starting from 9:00 AM at the nautical club area which includes essential items like timing chips and exclusive edition swim caps. A designated wardrobe service is available for storing personal belongings during the races, ensuring swimmers can focus solely on their performance.
Post-race amenities include showers set up along the finish line to help participants rinse off before heading home or enjoying post-swim festivities in Donostia-San Sebastián's vibrant atmosphere. This event offers a perfect blend of competition and camaraderie for all involved, making it an unmissable date on any aquatic enthusiast’s calendar.
Participants should note that while there are no dedicated changing facilities provided by the organizers, showers positioned along the finish line allow swimmers to freshen up after their races.
