AARC Phils Tavern 5K 2026 (Phil’s 5K)

The Ambler Area Running Club is set to host the 2026 Phil’s Tavern 5K on July 23rd, returning once again to its traditional route near Shady Grove Elementary School. This beloved community race invites runners of all levels to participate in a competitive yet inclusive event that supports local youth programs.
The entry fee for this year's run is set at just $15 (plus processing fees), ensuring the race remains accessible and affordable, encouraging broad participation among both seasoned athletes and beginners alike. A new addition to this year’s lineup is an optional Kids Fun Run, taking place around 6:15 PM on the school grounds before the main event. This untimed one-mile run offers a fun-filled experience for young participants who will receive frozen treats upon completion.
Race day activities begin with packet pick-up from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Shady Grove Elementary, or earlier on July 21st between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Phil’s Tavern in Blue Bell. Runners can also opt for a technical race shirt during registration for $10.
The route itself winds through the charming neighborhoods of Ambler along Lewis Lane and Miles Drive, offering runners the chance to enjoy scenic views while navigating fast-paced streets designed specifically for running. The course is strictly for runners; walkers, strollers, and pets are not permitted due to road closure limitations.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to post-race refreshments provided by Phil’s Tavern, as well as accurate race results thanks to chip timing technology. Awards will be given out in a variety of categories including overall first place male and female winners, masters division top three for both genders, and age group awards every ten years.
