ADUNAKO VIII. MENDI DUATLOIA

Set against the stunning backdrop of Basque Country’s majestic mountains, the Adunako Udala Mountain Challenge is an exhilarating adventure for trail runners and cyclists. This unique multi-discipline race takes place on November 18th, offering participants a blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking views.
The event begins at 3:00 PM with a steep climb through rugged mountain trails over a distance of 3.66 kilometers, ascending to an elevation gain of 118 meters. This initial section tests the endurance and agility of runners as they navigate rocky paths and switchbacks that wind their way up towards the summit.
Following this intense uphill run is a longer stretch where participants transition into cycling mode for 14.5 kilometers over undulating terrain, with an impressive elevation gain of 541 meters. Cyclists will face steep ascents and descents as they pedal through scenic landscapes dotted with pine forests and alpine meadows.
The race concludes with another mountain run covering a distance of 1.83 kilometers, climbing to just under 60 vertical meters. This final section provides runners with an opportunity for one last push before crossing the finish line at the summit.
Throughout each segment, participants are treated to panoramic views that showcase the beauty and diversity of Basque Country’s natural environment. With its mix of running and cycling disciplines, this event offers a unique challenge for athletes looking to test their limits in some of Europe's most picturesque mountain settings.
