The Hot Springs Enduro, taking place from October 24 to 25, 2026, invites riders of all skill levels into the vibrant Northwoods Trails system within Hot Springs National Park. This trail network offers a diverse range of routes—from beginner-friendly green trails to challenging double black obstacles for seasoned athletes seeking an adrenaline rush.
This enduro event aligns with the Gudrun Mountain Bike Festival, which spans three days and includes dual slalom, Strider races, and Atilla the Hun XC competitions. The festival atmosphere ensures there's something thrilling for every participant.
Registration opens on June 12 at 8 AM, following a first-come, first-served basis. Event organizers may limit overall participation to ensure an optimal experience for all riders. Each entry includes one-day competition with up to four to seven stages and between ten and twenty total miles of rider-designed racing. Pre-race practice times are scheduled the day before.
The course will be sufficiently marked with maps emailed to participants a week prior, ensuring clear navigation through challenging terrain. Mid-race aid stations provide essential support, featuring professional neutral mechanics and medical services for any needs that arise during competition.
Professional timing ensures accuracy down to the thousandth of a second, offering instant results. Post-race festivities include a family-friendly meal with cold beverages (21+ required), served at Cedar Glades Park located on Wildcat Road in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The race venue, accessible via Trapper Lane from Wildcat Road, offers ample amenities for both participants and spectators. The exact schedule will be announced the week before the event but typically includes early pre-riding opportunities, check-in periods, practice days, and official start times. Rain or shine events are planned with adjustments made as necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
For those seeking accommodation, Hot Springs boasts a variety of lodging options—from hotels to vacation rentals—detailed on hotsprings.org. Dry camping spots may be reserved during registration for additional comfort in the outdoors.
Safety remains paramount; helmets and protective gear such as knee pads and elbow guards are highly recommended. October's mild autumn weather ensures comfortable riding conditions with daily highs around 77°F (25°C) and lows of about 53°F (12°C). Riders should plan to carry at least 50-60 ounces of water and sufficient snacks for endurance.
A post-race meal will be provided, redeemable through a ticket system available at the Registration & Timing tent. Additional food trucks cater to spectators, ensuring everyone can refuel properly after the event.
