The Alford Bull Running Festival, supported by Gary Moyse at RE/MAX Scotland, has evolved from its roots as the Mini Bull Run into an all-encompassing day of races for participants of every age. This beloved festival not only celebrates running but also supports local athletes by donating profits to fund permanent floodlighting at the Grampian Transport Museum. The initiative aims to enhance safety and encourage more year-round participation. The event is made possible through the generous support of community partners, with special recognition going to Gary Moyse from RE/MAX Scotland for his contributions both as a supporter and an active member of Alford Bull Running Club. His involvement underscores the importance of local engagement in fostering successful events like this one. ### Mini Bull Run The festival features age-graded fun runs ranging from 300 meters up to 1.2 kilometers, designed specifically for preschoolers through 12-year-olds. There's also a relay run where teams consisting of an adult and a child aged twelve or under compete on a loop course measuring 600 meters. ### Trail Race For older runners, the festival offers a mixed-terrain 5km trail race starting at Haughton House in Alford. The route includes park trails and quiet country roads with uneven surfaces that may include tree roots. This challenging yet scenic run is fully signposted and supported by marshals along its entire length. ### Road Race Competitors aged sixteen or above can take part in the official 10km road race, which starts at Haughton House and finishes at Flower Meadow within Haughton Park. The course is certified for accuracy and features quiet country roads throughout. Marshals will be present to provide directions and water stations are set up along the route. ### Race Timetable - Registration: Opens at 08:15 AM (Haughton House) - Warm-up Activities: - 9:10 AM for the 5km Trail Race - 9:55 AM for the 10km Road Race - Races Start: - The 5km Trail Race at 9:15 AM - The 10km Road Race follows at 10:00 AM - Award Ceremony: At 11:30 AM, immediately followed by the Mini Bull Run and Relay events starting at 11:45 AM. ### Entry Fees & Registration Details Participants can register online only through entrycentral.com/alfordbullrunningfestival.
