Welcome to Arholma, the heart of Sweden's Swimrun culture and home to one of Europe’s most iconic events: Amfibiemannen Sprint. This celebrated race has been drawing runners and swimmers from around the globe since its inception in 2010, offering a unique blend of challenge and natural beauty. The 2026 edition of Amfibiemannen Sprint is set for July 25th at Arholma Island, an enchanting archipelago location where Sweden’s inland sea meets open waters. The event features a course that stretches approximately 15.5 kilometers, with runners covering 13 kilometers on foot and navigating through the water for 2.5 kilometers. Arholma offers a dramatic and varied landscape, characterized by rugged cliffs, clear fjords, dense forests, and narrow paths winding through breathtaking scenery. Participants will traverse unmarked terrain in both forested areas and along small trails, crossing over skerries and rocky outcrops, scaling hills, fording bays, and swimming across open waters. The race course takes you to the iconic Arholma Lighthouse as well as around the historic fortifications of Arholma Fort. This challenging yet scenic route is designed not only to test your endurance but also to immerse participants in one of Sweden’s most pristine natural settings without disturbing local wildlife or ecosystems. Amfibiemannen Sprint caters to all levels, whether you're a seasoned swimrunner looking for a legendary experience or someone new to the sport. The event welcomes both solo competitors and teams of two—mixed gender, women-only, or men-only groups—and offers an opportunity to connect with nature while pushing your physical limits. Post-race festivities include hearty barbecued snacks and cold beverages at the beach, all included in your registration fee. Participants also have access to showers, changing facilities, and storage options on site. Equipment rentals are available for those who need them, including wetsuits, paddles, and swim caps at a reduced rate of 295 SEK. Transportation to Arholma is straightforward with bus services from Stockholm to Simpnäs followed by ferry rides or chartered boats to the island itself. Buses return participants back to shore after the event concludes in the evening. In addition to the race experience, accommodation options are available at Arholma Nord, offering cozy lodging for those wishing to extend their stay before and after the competition. All registered runners receive a finisher’s medal and complimentary cold drinks post-race, along with access to exclusive discounts on gear from Wolffwear. With all these features in place, Amfibiemannen Sprint promises an unforgettable day of adventure and camaraderie among fellow enthusiasts who share a passion for swimrun competitions. Don't miss this chance to experience one of Sweden's most beautiful courses and join the legacy of runners and swimmers who have made Arholma their home away from home since 2010.
