Welcome to the Blidö IF Swim School 2026, taking place from July 13-17 and July 20-24. This immersive program is held at Rådmansholmens Beach on picturesque Blidö Island. The swim school offers seven distinct classes tailored for different skill levels: Swim Fun (Ages 4+): No prerequisites needed, making it perfect for beginners who want to get comfortable in the water. Parents are welcome to join their little ones if desired. The goal is simple—learn basic movement and positioning in the water, practice jumping from a pier, and submerging your head. Swim School Dipper (Ages 6+): Similar to Swim Fun but designed for slightly older children who might be ready for more structured lessons. No prerequisites are required here either, focusing on similar goals of building comfort and basic skills in the water. Swim School Beginner (Age 5+): This class is geared towards those who can swim at least two meters using breaststroke in open water and have experience jumping from a pier and submerging their head. The aim is to master swimming ten meters on your back, as well as diving safely into deeper waters. Swim School Intermediate (Age 5+): Ideal for children with basic skills who can swim ten meters on their backs and jump off the pier confidently while wearing a life jacket. This class focuses on extending these abilities by teaching them to swim twenty-five meters in backstroke, adding knowledge about boat safety and ice conditions. Swim School Advanced (Age 6+): For those with more advanced skills who can already manage one hundred meters of front crawl and fifty meters of backstroke in open water. Students will dive deeper into the curriculum by practicing rescue techniques like towing a companion wearing a life jacket, mastering safe diving from piers, and learning about various watersports. Swim School Elite (Age 7+): Designed for swimmers who have mastered significant distances in both front crawl and backstroke, as well as basic safety skills. This class aims to prepare participants for higher-level certifications like the Simborgarmärket, Silvermärket, Delfinen Gold, and Magistermärkerna. Swim School Lifeguard (Age 10+): A specialized course for young individuals who are already proficient swimmers capable of covering two hundred meters in front crawl and one hundred meters in backstroke. This class focuses on honing lifeguard skills such as stable side positions, rescuing from the bottom of a dock, and mastering advanced rescue techniques like Silverbojen and Guldbojen. Registration for each level is open until June 21 through raceid.com. Each child's participation fee amounts to 900 SEK per week, with full refunds available if circumstances prevent attendance.
