ATW Bedford 10k & Half Marathon

Organised by ATW Events, the Bedford Embankment Race offers runners of all levels the chance to achieve personal best times on its fast and flat course. Both the Half Marathon and 10k routes are designed for speed with minimal elevation changes, making them ideal venues for testing your limits.
The one-lap 10k race begins and ends at Bedford Embankment, taking runners across Town Bridge before tracing the River Ouse to Priory Park. Here, participants loop around serene Priory Lake, enjoying the tranquil scenery of this picturesque spot. The route then returns to a cheering crowd on the finish line.
Half Marathon competitors extend their journey with an additional lap and a short extension to reach 21.1 km. Throughout both events, runners can rely on clear kilometre markers for pacing guidance and traffic-free paths that ensure smooth running conditions. With only minimal elevation gain—less than 50 meters in the 10k event and slightly more in the Half Marathon—the course is one of the flattest around.
The race day experience includes pre-race warm-ups, on-course commentary to keep you motivated, quality catering for post-run refueling, custom medals commemorating your achievement, free photos capturing your moment, and finish-line snacks to replenish energy. A family-friendly option also exists with a free, untimed Family Fun Run welcoming participants of all ages; however, under-8s must run alongside an adult.
