Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK

The Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK returns to Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial Park in Wildwood, Missouri on October 24, 2026 for its third annual run. This event is hosted at the Guy Park trailhead within Babler State Park and offers both a traditional 15K Trail Run and a challenging 15K RUCK option that requires participants to carry additional weight in a backpack or rucksack weighing no less than 20 pounds, not including water or food. The race is limited to just 75 runners due to its intimate setting within the scenic trails of Babler State Park.
On race morning, expect crisp autumn conditions with temperatures ranging from around 10.9°C at dawn to a maximum of approximately 21.6°C by mid-morning. Trail surfaces will be firm and slightly soft underfoot, allowing for both speed and endurance challenges as runners navigate the interconnected network of trails in Babler State Park. The race begins promptly at 8:00 AM with a staggered start that includes ruck division participants who carry additional weight.
Since its inception, the Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK has become an integral part of the local running community and is now partnered with the Trail Mix Fund to increase diversity in trail racing. The event supports runners from under-served communities by covering race registration fees through donations made specifically for this cause, aiming to break down barriers that prevent potential racers from participating due to financial constraints or lack of confidence within the sport.
