About the Event

5 Days of Open Water Swimming in spectacular Barbados. The Barbados Open Water Festival is a truly unique experience. Come for the swims, meet new friends, rekindle some old friendships and just enjoy the awesome Bajan hospitality. Three days of practice swims and two days of "Races". You can choose to swim one day or all five! The races are a wonderful mix of ages and abilities, serious swimmers and swimmers just there for enjoyment. Distances: 1.5K, 3.3K, 5K, 10K. Every year we welcome numerous first time "sea-swimmers". Finisher Medals & Age Category Medals.

About Bridgetown

Learn more about the host city, Bridgetown.

Bridgetown is the capital and only city of Barbados. In 2014 it had a population of 110,000, about half the island's population, and many more commute in. The well-preserved centre is attractive and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main sights in the city are the Careenage and Garrison Savannah the 18th- and 19th-century military area a mile south. Bridgetown is a regular port of call for cruise ships and has good duty-free shopping.
