Circuit Running invites you to the University of York for an unforgettable 6-hour running and walking challenge. The inaugural event promises a unique experience that caters to runners and walkers alike, with a course designed to test your endurance while offering scenic views around the university campus. Registration opens at 9:10 AM, followed by the start time at 9:40 AM. Participants will navigate a 2.2-mile loop featuring both tarmac paths and short stretches of grass near the starting line and finish area. The route includes a slight incline in the middle section, adding an extra challenge to each lap. The course layout allows for various distance goals: - Five laps cover a half marathon (13.2 miles). - Twelve laps complete a full marathon (26.4 miles). - Thirteen or more laps take you into ultra-marathon territory. Aid stations are conveniently placed at the end of every loop, offering water, squash, fizzy drinks, and an array of snacks like sweets and biscuits to keep your energy levels up throughout the event. Participants have until 5:59 PM to complete their last lap. Toilets will be available at York Sport Centre for any comfort breaks during the race. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants receive a custom-designed medal and a generous goody bag as recognition of their achievement. The event is licensed by the TRA and adheres strictly to UK Athletics rules, ensuring safety and fairness throughout the competition.
