About the Event

Lace-up your running (or walking) shoes for the fifth-annual Battle of the Badges 5K, on Saturday, October 3, presented by First Due Company. This family-friendly event features a fun competition between the Whitestown Fire and Police Departments. Choose which team you will support when you register and let the battle begin! The department with the most signups will receive the coveted Battle of the Badges trophy.

The race kicks off at 8am at 121 Hull Street in Whitestown’s Legacy Core. The route this year will feature Whitestown’s Legacy Core and the Big 4 Rail Trail.

A portion of the race proceeds will be donated to the Boone County Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Whitestown is a town in Boone County, Indiana, United States. The population was 10,187 at the 2020 census. The town is located near Interstate 65, approximately 22 miles (35 km) northwest of Downtown Indianapolis, and about 7 miles (11 km) from the northern city limits of Indianapolis, between exits 130 and 133. Since 2010, Whitestown has been the fastest-growing municipality in Indiana; its population increased more than threefold between the 2010 and 2020 Census tabulations.
