Berkeley Trail Adventure

The Berkeley Trail Adventure invites runners of all levels to explore the natural beauty of Tilden Regional Park, located just outside Berkeley, California. This scenic course offers an unforgettable blend of shaded trails lined with coast live oak and eucalyptus trees, interspersed with open sections that provide stunning views of San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and even Mount Tamalpais on clear days.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances to suit their preferences: 50K for those seeking an epic challenge, 35K for runners looking for a more manageable yet rewarding experience, half marathon enthusiasts who want to test their limits over hilly terrain, or the 10K race for beginners and recreational joggers. The event takes place on September 12, 2026, with early bib pickup available at Sports Basement in Berkeley from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on September 11.
Race morning registration begins promptly at Lake Anza starting at 7:30 AM for those who haven't picked up their race materials beforehand. The event kicks off at 8:30 AM with the start of both the 50K and 35K races, followed by the half marathon beginning shortly after at 9:00 AM and finally the 10K runners setting out at 9:15 AM.
Aid stations are strategically placed every 5 to 7 miles along each course. These well-stocked points provide a variety of energy-replenishing options, including Gu Energy gels, chews, trail mix, pretzels, potato chips, Oreo cookies, Skratch Labs Sports Hydration Mix, PB&J sandwiches, and more. Runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups or water bottles as this is a cupless event designed to reduce waste.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive custom medals celebrating their achievement. The top three overall male and female winners in each race distance earn not only trophies but also special prizes from Inside Trail Racing sponsors. Additionally, age-group awards are given out for both genders across various categories, with unique rewards such as a bottle of wine from Atlas Wine Co. awaiting the 21+ Age Group Winners.
Volunteers play an integral role in ensuring a smooth race day experience and receive perks like free T-shirts, post-race food, and credits toward future events based on their level of involvement. The event is limited to 350 runners total across all distances to maintain quality for participants while preserving the park's natural environment.
