Biathlon de l'Oust: Courir, viser, se dépasser

On the heels of its successful previous edition, the Biathlon de l'Oust is back on November 8, 2026, at Bains-sur-Oust Sports Hall. This year's event promises even more camaraderie and fun for all participants.
The concept remains straightforward: run, shoot with a laser rifle, then start over again in this unique blend of athletics and marksmanship. No prior biathlon experience is necessary; the laser rifles are user-friendly, and staff will guide you through everything before your race begins.
Competitors can choose from several categories:
Sprint (7.5 km):
The flagship event for seasoned runners looking to push their limits on a course that alternates between running and shooting stations. With multiple rounds at the firing range and penalty loops for missed targets, this 7.5-kilometer race is suitable for those aged 16 and up.
Sprint Discovery (4.5 km):
Ideal for beginners or anyone seeking an accessible challenge to dip their toes into biathlon. This shorter version of the Sprint event offers a more manageable distance while maintaining all the excitement, starting at age 14.
Challenge Juniors:
A specially designed race for young athletes aged 10 to 13 who wish to experience biathlon independently. The course is tailored to their abilities but retains the spirit and discipline of the sport with timed runs and laser shooting.
Parent-Child Challenge:
The most lighthearted part of the day, where a child and an adult tackle the race together as a family team. Emphasizing enjoyment over performance, this event welcomes participants from age 6 upwards, ensuring everyone has fun while engaging in physical activity.
All laser rifles used are entirely safe with no projectiles involved; instead, they feature a light beam system that detects impacts on electronic targets. Briefings before each race ensure all competitors feel confident and prepared to take part.
The day will also offer refreshments and free parking, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
