About the Event

Join the BIKE AND RUN of Saint Astier, an exciting team challenge open to all participants! This unique race features a famous climb up Puyferrat and is designed for teams of two who share one mountain bike. The course combines cycling with running, offering a thrilling blend of endurance and teamwork.
Medical Requirements:
For those without a valid FFTRI Competition license, individuals must fill out the "Health Information Form" to confirm their understanding of health guidelines. For minors participating in this event, parental consent is mandatory along with completing a joint health questionnaire between the athlete and parents or guardians. If any responses indicate medical attention, participants will need an updated sports fitness certificate no older than six months.
The race format involves cycling and running segments that are seamlessly integrated into one continuous effort without stopping the clock during transitions from bike to run. Teams can strategize their exchanges based on each member's strengths but must cross the finish line together.
Race Schedule:
- XS JUNIOR: 09:15 AM, featuring four laps of 2.5km (totaling 10km) for younger participants.
- OPEN XS: Starting at 10:30 AM, also covering a total distance of 10km over four loops of 2.5km each.
- For the youngest athletes:
- 6 to 9 years old run two laps of 1km (totaling 2km) starting from around 11:45 AM onwards.
- 10 and 13-year-olds complete a total distance of 5km over two loops of 2.5km.
The senior category begins at 1:30 PM with three laps of 5.4km each, totaling 16.2km for the S (Senior) division.
- Podium ceremonies take place immediately after each race segment to celebrate achievements and highlight performances.
Participants can enjoy on-site catering options throughout the day as they cheer for their teams or relax between events in a supportive atmosphere filled with camaraderie among competitors of all ages.
This event promises an unforgettable experience, combining scenic routes through Puyferrat's challenging terrain with the thrill of teamwork. Whether you're an experienced athlete or new to racing, Saint Astier’s BIKE AND RUN offers something special for everyone involved.
