The Muskogee Gravel Circuit offers an unforgettable cycling experience through the heart of Oklahoma. The tour commences and concludes in the vibrant city of Muskogee, with clear signage guiding you along three distinct routes: 15 miles, 25 miles, and a challenging 40-mile journey. For Saturday's adventure, cyclists will embark on either a scenic ride to Tullahassee or venture further into Red Bird and Taft. The longer route of 60 miles includes stops at all these locations before concluding the day’s efforts back in Muskogee. Those who choose the North Route will traverse through picturesque landscapes until reaching the historic town of Taft, where they'll be greeted by a shuttle to return home. Sunday's tour takes you southward on two routes: a 12-mile journey to Summit and Rentiesville or an extended 25-mile route that explores both destinations. The final leg for those opting for the longer distance will involve a return trip from Rentiesville, offering a unique blend of rural charm and natural beauty. For participants seeking greater challenges, two long-distance routes are available—45 miles and 60 miles—which cover similar terrain but extend your journey further into the heartland. The route to Tullahassee, Red Bird, and Taft will ensure you soak in the local history and scenery before returning triumphantly to Muskogee. The event kicks off with a packet pick-up on Friday evening at the Roxy Theater, located at 220 W. Okmulgee Avenue, where light refreshments await along with an engaging movie about Oklahoma’s Black Towns. The mayor of Muskogee will be present alongside representatives from Remember the Removal (Trail of Tears), fostering meaningful discussions and insights into the area's rich heritage. On Saturday and Sunday, registration discounts are available for those who choose to participate in both days, saving you 48% on your total entry fee when registering as a two-day participant. Parking is conveniently located at the 300 Elgin parking lot across from the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. The Start/Finish Line is set up at Depot Green Park along 200 Elgin Street, where packet pickup and same-day registration commence between 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. By 8:45 AM, riders will line up according to their chosen mileage group before the ride starts promptly at 9 AM. The event also features a family-friendly 5K slow roll starting at 10:00 AM for those looking to enjoy the day in a more relaxed pace or with younger participants. Detailed course maps are available online, ensuring every rider can plan their route effectively and safely. Experience the unique blend of history, nature, and community spirit that makes this event truly special. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or new to gravel routes, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.
