Bornholm Backyard 2026

The event features two distinct categories: Backyard Fun Run and Backyard Ultra. The Backyard Fun Run allows participants to complete up to six laps (40.2 kilometers) over a period of 6 hours, while the ultra category is open-ended until only one runner remains standing after each hour-long lap around the marked course.
The race route follows established nature trails that wind through varied landscapes surrounding Klemensker with minimal asphalt surfaces. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies for sustenance and comfort during this endurance event. Camping facilities, tents, pavilions, and other amenities will be available on-site to enhance your experience.
Race organizers recommend checking in at 16:00 on August 28th or from 8:00 onwards on race day itself. A briefing session starts at 8:45 AM sharp before the first lap begins promptly at 9:00 AM for both categories.
Participants will face a new challenge every hour as they strive to complete each circuit within the time limit and return to start in order to continue competing. The route measures exactly 6.7 kilometers per loop, offering breathtaking views of Bornholm's natural beauty along the way.

With limited spots available—130 places reserved for Backyard Ultra and 40 for Fun Run participants—it promises to be a rare opportunity not to miss out on.
