Brightlingsea Jog Walk Run in aid of Essex Air Ambulance 2026
About the Event
Brightlingsea Jog/Walk/Run offers runners of all ages an engaging four-mile journey through the picturesque landscapes of Essex. The race, organized by the Rotary Club of Brightlingsea & District, starts at All Saints Church and winds its way along country lanes and footpaths, before reaching the scenic seawall down Moverons Lane. Participants will enjoy views of both countryside and river as they make their way past Bateman's Tower to finish in style at Mirror Millennium Gardens on Promenade Way. The terrain is mostly flat with only a few gentle inclines and steps along the route, making it accessible for most runners while still offering some challenge. However, due to certain restrictions, horses and bicycles are not allowed throughout parts of the course, and wheelchairs or mobility scooters cannot navigate this path effectively. Sturdy buggies/pushchairs are permitted though, ensuring that families can join in on the fun. The event welcomes dogs as long as they remain leashed at all times, making it a friendly affair for pet owners too. Competitive runners must be over 11 years old and need to complete a parent/guardian consent form if under this age; however, children of any age are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Registration opens on Sunday, September 13th, at 10:00 AM outside All Saints' Church. The race kicks off promptly at 11:00 AM from the top of Moverons Lane. For more information and to support Essex Air Ambulance through a sponsorship form, visit brightlingseajogwalkrun.org. This event is not only about running but also serves as an opportunity for community members to come together in support of a vital cause while enjoying one of England's charming coastal towns.
