In the summer of 2026, cyclists from around the world are invited to embark on an epic journey along the Rhine and Charente rivers. The Koewi Cognac Challenge offers two distinct routes: a continuous 1000-kilometer Brevet ride that stretches from Königswinter in Germany all the way to Cognac, France, or a more leisurely multi-stage tour of the same distance. Participants will traverse stunning landscapes, passing through charming towns and vibrant cities along both rivers. The event culminates at the Fête du Cognac festival held from July 23rd to 25th in Cognac, where cyclists can celebrate their achievement with local cognacs and regional delicacies. The route showcases a rich tapestry of European culture and natural beauty, winding through vineyards, forests, and historic landmarks. Cyclists will experience the scenic Rhine Valley before crossing into France and continuing along the picturesque Charente region known for its rolling hills and charming villages. For those who prefer to savor each mile, multi-stage options allow riders to break up their journey with rest days in between stages, ensuring a memorable adventure that balances challenge and enjoyment. The event promises not only physical exertion but also cultural immersion and scenic exploration.
