Situated in the picturesque landscape of Bucks County, this event offers an unforgettable journey through some of the county's oldest and most scenic roads. The ride is a celebration of nature and cycling heritage, offering three distinct courses: Long (81 miles), Medium (57 miles), Short (34 miles), and Family Ride. Each route weaves through rolling hills, past charming pre-revolutionary stone houses, and along winding dirt paths that have been carved by glaciers over millennia. The unpaved sections of the course are a key feature, totaling 23 miles on the Long Route, 20 miles on Medium, and 12.5 miles on Short. These roads require sturdy tires—kudos to those who opt for 28mm or wider—to ensure a smoother ride through technical terrains. Bucks Gravel is fully supported with aid stations strategically placed along each route. For the Long Route, three stops are available; Medium and Short routes have two and one station respectively. The Family Ride concludes at a flat towpath that's mostly unpaved but perfect for all skill levels. Post-ride refreshments await cyclists at 18th Ward Brewing, where you can refuel with food and drink, including craft beers. For those looking to extend their adventure, Beaver Valley Campgrounds offers convenient camping options just past Mile 20 of the Short Course. With its proximity to the event start/finish line, it’s an ideal spot for a night under the stars. Charity partners such as Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Delaware Valley Volunteer Fire Company, Tinicum Conservancy, and PA Chapter of NICA contribute generously from this event, making it not just a ride but also a community effort. The event is rain or shine, with no cancellations unless extreme weather conditions force organizers to make changes. Participants must register online and sign the waiver/liability release before riding. Check-in on-site is mandatory for all participants, who should be prepared to start within their designated time windows: Long Course from 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM; Medium Course from 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM; Short Course from 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM; and Family Ride from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM. While free parking is available at the Delaware Valley Fire Company in Erwinna, PA, cyclists are reminded that roads remain open to vehicular traffic. Safety should always be a priority—wear a helmet meeting CPSC, ANSI, or Snell standards and avoid using headsets or earbuds during your ride.
