Set against the stunning backdrop of Burnsall Village, nestled within Yorkshire's picturesque countryside, the Due North Trail series presents its inaugural Burnsall 12k trail race. This scenic run offers participants an immersive journey through rolling hills and lush greenery, showcasing the beauty of England’s Dales. Registration for this event opens on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, providing runners with ample time to prepare for what promises to be a challenging yet rewarding experience. The race begins at Riverside Car Park in Burnsall Village, conveniently situated near the picturesque Red Lion Pub. Runners will start their journey from here and are advised to register by 9:45 am on race day. The course itself is an extension of the half marathon route but features a unique diversion through Appletreewick before returning to Burnsall for the finish line. This section allows runners to explore charming villages and enjoy picturesque views along the way, making this trail run not just about speed but also about appreciating the natural beauty around them. Participants will find ample parking facilities at Riverside Car Park with Due North Marshalls on hand to assist with directions and organization. Toilets are available near the registration area for runners' convenience before they embark on their journey. As a part of the event, prizes will be awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers as well as first-place winners in various age categories (V40, V50, V60, and V70+). This ensures that runners of all ages have an opportunity to shine. The Burnsall 12k trail race is open to participants aged 17 years or older. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved, spectators are kindly asked not to park in the car park field. Instead, they can view the event from Appletreewick where runners will pass by two village pubs, providing another vantage point with plenty of character. Join us on race day as we celebrate this unique trail run that combines competitive spirit with a love for nature and community.
