Ilkley Incline 2026

The Ilkley Incline Race offers an exhilarating challenge for runners seeking to conquer steep ascents and breathtaking views. This one-mile uphill journey, featuring 560 feet of elevation gain, starts on tarmac before transitioning to a stony track that winds through the picturesque Wharfe Valley.
Competitors from various running backgrounds come together in this friendly event, organized by Ilkley Harriers under Fell Runners Association (FRA) category CS. Registration opens at 6pm on Wells Road, where participants can sign up and collect their race numbers before setting off for an evening of competition and camaraderie.
The top three male and female finishers will receive awards along with age group winners in a prize ceremony immediately following the race around 7:45 pm. Sponsors Yorkshire Runner and Bini Brew Co. support this event, adding to its festive atmosphere.

In addition to the main event, there is also an opportunity for younger athletes with Junior Sprint Relays starting at 6pm. Teams of four can register on race day for £6 per team.
