About the Event

The Cameron Crusher marks the conclusion of the SSIC Gravel Series, taking place in Steuben County. This 50+ mile endurance race challenges participants with a diverse course that predominantly features gravel and dirt roads, though it includes paved sections for connectivity.
Expect an intense physical experience as you navigate through numerous climbs and descents. The terrain is rugged, with steep downhills that promise exhilarating rides and challenging uphills that will test your legs to the limit. You'll need to be prepared for frequent stops due to traffic; always obey all road signs and rules.
The course is divided into five timed segments: two climbs, two descents, and one longer endurance piece designed to push you through various terrains. While there won't be an overall time recorded, each segment will contribute significantly to your race experience and pacing strategy.
Gravel bikes are highly recommended for this event due to the varied surface conditions. Mountain bikes can handle the course as well, but road bikes are not permitted. The route is best navigated with a GPS file; participants should download and save the GPX map from the provided link or rely on a riding partner to guide them.
A crucial checkpoint awaits at the base of Hathaway Hill, where you'll find water and food restocked for your climb. Missing this stop could leave you short of energy during one of the most demanding parts of the race.
