In 2019, Laurent Dubost, an accomplished multi-disciplinary athlete and former motorsports driver, turned his focus to raising awareness about cardiovascular diseases after undergoing open-heart surgery following a heart condition diagnosis. Alongside friends Hubert Auriol and Soumia Malinbaum, he launched the inaugural CARDIAC VENTOUX event in France's iconic Ventoux region. The first edition of CARDIAC VENTOUX quickly gained traction with support from former professional cyclists Yoann and Jean-Claude Bagot. Over subsequent years, participants hailed from eight countries including Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Argentina, Japan, the USA, England, and France. The event's popularity continued to grow as it welcomed legendary figures like Bernard Hinault, who joined in supporting similar initiatives across different locations such as Mont Saint-Michel and Guadeloupe. In 2026, CARDIAC VENTOUX returns for its eighth edition, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Ventoux mountains. The event aims to promote heart health awareness through a challenging yet rewarding experience that combines athletic competition with community engagement. Participants will encounter breathtaking views as they navigate rugged terrain and steep climbs. The week leading up to CARDIAC VENTOUX features additional activities designed to foster camaraderie among participants and supporters alike, including the fourth edition of the Trophée Golf Saint-Malo Resort golf tournament and a special boat participation in the prestigious Route du Rhum 2026 from St. Malo to Pointe-à-Pitre. Cardiac Ventoux remains dedicated to its mission: educating people about cardiovascular disease prevention through engaging, impactful events that blend athletic challenge with meaningful social causes.
