Nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Cumbria, the Charm Bracelet Ultra Series presents two compelling challenges: the CB100 and the CB50. Both events trace routes that wind through some of England's most stunning countryside. The CB100 begins in Dufton Village, where participants will embark on a 104-mile journey along the Pennine Way before transitioning to the Teesdale Way and eventually concluding with the King Charles III coastal path. This route is known for its diverse terrain, offering runners both challenging ascents and steep descents that contribute significantly to the overall elevation gain of over 6,000 feet. Support options are available after the second checkpoint, approximately 21 miles into the race, allowing participants to have a support runner assist them. Throughout the course, there are ten checkpoints where hot food, cold meals, and snacks will be provided to keep runners fueled for their long-distance endeavor. For those planning an unsupported run, proof of previous completion in events exceeding 50 miles is required at registration. The CB50, a more moderate challenge covering 51 miles with only 1709 feet of elevation gain, offers a flatter and smoother terrain that's ideal for trail runners looking to enjoy the beauty without extreme climbs. This route features four strategically placed checkpoints serving nourishment along the way. Both events share similar start points at Dufton Methodist Chapel or Croft on Tees Village Hall depending on which distance you're tackling. Participants can register from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM for the CB100 and from 6:00 AM to 8:45 AM for the CB50, with race starts at noon for the longer event and early morning on Saturday for the shorter one. Relay teams in both races must consist of a minimum of two runners up to four. Each team is responsible for arranging their own transportation between checkpoints. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants receive a finisher's medal and t-shirt, along with pie and mash catering that accommodates various dietary needs. Trophies are awarded to top male, female, non-binary competitors in both solo and relay categories, as well as age group winners in 50+, 60+ & 70+ divisions. The event organizers offer a GPS tracker for friends and family to follow the runners' progress throughout their journey. Additionally, participants have the option of purchasing XCover insurance, providing peace of mind should unforeseen circumstances prevent them from participating. Join us at Skinningrove Village Hall on Sunday morning as we celebrate your achievement with warmth and camaraderie in this unforgettable ultra running experience. Registration for both events is now open, offering a unique opportunity to test endurance against the breathtaking backdrop of Cumbria.
