Cedar Lake Triathlon Summer Series - Race #6: The Finale of Your Summer Adventure This final leg of our six-race summer series takes place every other Thursday night at Cedar Lake, offering local racers an unbeatable grassroots racing experience. In 2026, we present two thrilling races: 1. Individual and Relay Sprint Triathlon: This race combines a 500-yard lake swim, a 10-mile bike ride, and a 5k road run. Perfect for beginners eager to test their limits or seasoned triathletes aiming to fine-tune before the fall season. The event is ideal for families looking for an active summer evening out. Awards will be given to both fast athletes and first timers, with plenty of prizes in between. 2. Super Sprint Triathlon: A popular returnee from last year, this shorter race offers a full triathlon experience condensed into a smaller package. It includes a 200-yard swim, a 5-mile bike ride, and a 1-mile run. Ideal for first timers, it’s an exciting way to start your Thursday as a regular person and finish transformed into a triathlete! Special prizes await young racers who are at least 13 years old. Free entry is available if you accompany them the entire race. This event fosters priceless family bonding. Race Times: - Super Sprint: 6:10 p.m. - Individual / Relay Sprint: 6:15 p.m. Preregistration and Online Registration: All racers must preregister in advance to secure a spot, with early registration offering lower entry fees. On-site registration will not be available this year. Online registrations close at 5:00 p.m. on race day; no walk-ins are permitted. Race Day Check-In: Check-in starts at 5:00 p.m., and all racers must be checked in by 5:45 p.m. First Time? Join Us! Cedar Lake welcomes first-time participants, with a significant portion of the weekly field comprising athletes new to triathlon. Transition areas will showcase every kind of bike—from high-end carbon TT bikes to hybrid models or even beach cruisers. Not Sure About Triathlons? Over 95% of racers finish each week without cutoff times applied until later in the season, typically for the final races as sunset approaches earlier. Volunteers and a certified tri coach will be on hand to guide you through buoy turns, transition zones, and equipment setup. Ensure you can swim 20 pool lengths non-stop for full sprint events or 10 lengths for super sprints. Aqua jogging is not permitted in either race. Join us this summer for an unforgettable experience at Cedar Lake! Inclement weather may lead to the event being changed to a duathlon, shortened triathlon, or canceled.

About Chester
Learn more about the host city, Chester.
Chester is a very pretty and historic English city on the river Dee, and the county town (capital) of the North-Western county of Cheshire. Although maybe not worth a whole holiday, it's well worth a day or overnight trip to see the Roman ruins and medieval city centre. This fine city is also the gateway to North Wales, as it stands directly on the Anglo-Welsh border.
