Immerse yourself in holiday cheer by participating in the Knavesmire's Santa Dash. This year’s 3k race will see runners chasing after a delectable Mince Pie, adding an extra layer of fun and excitement to your festive run. Participants can choose from three sizes for their Santa suit: - Adult one size - Youth (suitable for teens or small adults around size 12) - Child While there is no strict age limit, all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Those under the age of 11 need to stay within an adult's reach throughout the race. Registration opens at 9am with the start time set for 10:30 am sharp. Race suits will be available on-site from Race HQ near the starting line, ensuring everyone is decked out in festive gear before setting off. In addition to the Santa Dash, there’s also a challenging 10km race where runners can chase after a Pudding! Both events offer unique opportunities for fun and fitness during the holiday season. The British Heart Foundation York Fundraising Group has been organizing Chase The Pud York for nearly two decades. By participating in either event, you’ll have the chance to support vital research into heart and circulatory diseases through Just Giving sponsorships. In York alone, around 26,000 people are living with these conditions, and each month sees an average of 40 lives lost due to them. Your contributions help fund over 900 life-saving projects annually across the UK, led by expert cardiology professors and scientists. Thanks to their work, more than half of all heart disease-related deaths in Britain have been prevented since the foundation’s inception. Your participation will support groundbreaking research that turns science fiction into reality – from heart-restarting machines to surgical advancements for infants. Join us on race day to celebrate health, community spirit, and a brighter future for those affected by heart conditions. Toilets are available at the venue for your convenience during the event.
