Chelmsford Marathon & Half Marathon

On Sunday, October 11th, the Chelmsford Marathon and Half Marathon returns to Essex as one of the region's premier running events. This award-winning race is celebrated for its meticulously measured courses, undulating terrain through Central Park’s tree-lined avenues and rural countryside lanes, making it a favorite among runners.
The event attracts enthusiastic participants who appreciate the well-organized atmosphere and supportive marshals from Little Havens Children's Hospice. Both marathoners and half-marathon enthusiasts can expect an engaging race day experience with pacers available to help maintain optimal pacing (subject to availability). This year’s event is also a major fundraising initiative for Little Havens Children's Hospice, which provides specialized care to children with complex or incurable conditions. Runners have the option to register as "Havens Heroes," making an additional £16 donation that goes directly towards essential hospice services. In 2025 alone, this race raised over £53,082 for Little Havens.
