Chesapeake Criterium - A VACA BAR Event

About the Event

The Great Bridge Community Challenge is set to take place on a picturesque course that offers runners a unique and invigorating experience. Online registration concludes by midnight on the Friday preceding race day, ensuring last-minute participants have time to sign up at the start/finish line between 7:10 AM and 1:30 PM on Saturday morning. A $10 late fee applies for those registering in person (excluding juniors). Entry fees cover USAC & VCA membership dues of $7.50, with a reduced rate of just $10 per race for junior participants.
A valid USAC license is required at registration and all USA Cycling rules will be strictly enforced. Runners can expect to complete the 0.8-mile loop course, which boasts a pancake-flat terrain designed for optimal performance. The community center nearby provides essential facilities including bathrooms and showers, ensuring post-race comfort and convenience.
Race organizers reserve the right to combine or modify races if fewer than ten participants sign up two weeks before race day. This decision may also affect start times, but runners will be informed well in advance of any changes.
For those aiming for a competitive edge, championship medals await Women Cat 1/2 and Women Cat 3 riders separately. Men/Open Cat 1/2 competitors can look forward to the prestigious award as well. Additional prize money is on offer: fields with over fifty preregistered participants will receive an extra $750 in prizes, while those surpassing seventy-five will enjoy a generous additional $1,250.
