About the Event

Deep Creek Park, located on the banks of the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail in Chesapeake, Virginia, welcomes cyclists for its highly anticipated annual race. Registration is now open and closes at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 1st; number pickup will commence from 7:15 AM onwards.
Entry fees are $40 per participant, with special rates of just $10 for juniors and a reduced fee of $7.25 for para-athletes and BAR/Omnium winners. Start times will be communicated via email on Saturday evening; riders will line up at one-minute intervals to ensure fair competition.
This event adheres strictly to USAC rules, requiring all participants to hold valid licenses. One-day licenses can be acquired through BikeReg if needed. The race is governed under Permit #16131 and SafeSport practices are observed throughout the course of the event.
The race offers two exciting courses: a short 4-mile route perfect for enthusiasts and a challenging 20-mile long course designed to test even the most experienced cyclists. Both paths follow the scenic Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, with about 2 miles on George Washington Highway. Detailed maps and full information are available through BikeReg.
Warm-up sessions are not permitted on the racecourse; instead, bring your own trainer for pre-competition warm-ups if necessary.
For those aiming to compete at a higher level, Virginia State Championship medals will be awarded in five-year age groups to eligible residents. The long course offers substantial prizes, with top men and women earning $500 each for their respective categories, recognizing the achievements of individual riders only.
