Circle of Life Event

The Circle of Life Event returns to Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin on September 19th, 2026. The race starts with the 1 Mile Kids Race at 9:00 am and follows with the 5K for adults beginning at 9:30 am.
On race morning, runners will gather in the serene setting of Lac Du Flambeau’s park. The early September weather promises a comfortable start to the day; temperatures are expected to range between cool mornings and pleasant afternoons, creating ideal conditions for running. A slight breeze might provide welcome relief from any mid-race warmth.
This event has been a staple in Lac Du Flambeau's community since its inception seven years ago. Each year it brings together participants numbering over 300 runners to support the Circle of Life Scholarship Fund, which helps local students pursue higher education and gives back to the vibrant community that hosts this race annually.
The course follows a firm yet slightly soft terrain through the park’s lush grounds. The first mile for kids takes them along winding paths lined with trees before they head towards the finish line. For 5K participants, the route continues onto open fields and trails, providing a mix of flat surfaces and gentle inclines. An aid station is set up at the halfway point to ensure runners stay hydrated.
Participants can expect clear blue skies on race day, though UV index levels indicate moderate exposure to sunlight; sunscreen is advised for everyone. The weather forecast suggests no significant precipitation risk, but it's always wise to carry a light jacket or rain gear just in case.
