The Cleveland Circuit Ride, now in its 11th year, invites cyclists to explore southeast Tennessee's scenic beauty while supporting a worthy cause. The ride takes place at Black Fox Elementary School and features three routes: a family-friendly 25 km loop, an intermediate 50 km course, and the challenging 100 km route for seasoned riders. The event is more than just a bike ride; it’s a fundraiser for Family Promise of Bradley County (FPBC), which provides essential services to families struggling with housing insecurity. By participating in the Cleveland Circuit Ride, cyclists contribute directly to FPBC's mission of offering prevention, shelter, and stabilization support to empower these families toward stable living conditions. Inspired by John Wesley, known as "the Circuit Rider" for his extensive travels spreading the Gospel across communities, this ride embodies a spirit of outreach and compassion. The name reflects Wesley’s belief that God’s work extends beyond the confines of traditional church settings into every corner of society where help is needed most. Cyclists on all routes will enjoy well-marked paths through picturesque landscapes. For those tackling the full 100 km, aid stations are strategically placed at both the 18 and 44 mile marks to ensure a comfortable yet challenging experience. The 50 km route features an aid station after 18 miles, while riders on the shorter course will find refreshments midway through their journey. Registration for this event is now open online until September 9th, with walk-up options available starting at 7:15 am on race day. Cyclists who sign up by August 27th can secure a commemorative event shirt. The ride itself begins early in the morning; those embarking on the longest journey start at 8 am, followed by the shorter routes beginning an hour later. Lunch will be provided for all participants courtesy of local favorite, Hungry Hippie. Cyclists with children are welcome to bring their little ones along but must ensure a responsible adult accompanies them throughout the ride. The event is not timed; it’s about enjoying the scenery and supporting a good cause at your own pace.
